| Without the endorsement and blessing from the USFA the current fencer were not going to show up and fence for fear of repercussions. So we held on to a couple more shows and then after that we had to shut things down and I lost everything I owned financially. my repreputation in the fencing world as a fencing event organizer was shattered and the USFA appointed a inquiry board that has banned me from ever holding an office within the USFA. But as a wise man once said if it doens't kill you it will make you stronger, right. So in summer of 1998 I moved to Charlotte NC to lick my wounds and rediscover why I am involved in fencing. It is to grow the sport of fencing and give back to fencing what it has given me. So, as long as I breath, God willing, I will teach people how to fence and hope that someone else will take the flag and carry it just up over that hill. |

| Many people have asked me why in God's name would the USFA stopped the first Professional Fencing League in the world. I would have created a lot more fencers, given exposure to fencing at a unpresendented level because the show was on network television with ABC. Why would they stop it? It was because they were not in control of it and if we had been successful they would have lost a huge portion of their cash flow stream. Have you ever done the math on the profit and loss statement from an NAC. The reason that we hosting the PFL events in Saratoga Springs NY was that it was the most cost effective location to have an NAC type event. Not only that but over 70% of the USFA membership and over 80% of the Canadian fencers lived within 8hrs driving distance of the site. Yes, it was a hell of a plan but the best combat plan lasts the first 30 seconds of contact with the enemy right? |
