Welcome the first of many training tournaments that we will be hosting this season.  You will not be able to get a USFA rating at these events.  Therefore you will not be required to have a USFA membership (but it is encouraged) and you may compete if under 13 years of age.   Format Two rounds of pools.  First round is handicapped (seeding based on USFA and Askfred ) and the second is not (based on results from the first round).   Handicapping is done by 1 point per difference in ratings.  An E fencing a D would start the match at 1-0.  To a max of 4 points.  If you don't like the format don't come) There will then be a cut at the bottom of each pool.  We will then take the top 4 in each pool to fence direct eliminations to 15 points.  Those cut from the pools will be consolidated and fence in another pool and then direct elimination bouts (second string round) Yes, there will be a lot of fencing, that is how we train.
